We are so excited to start a new year! Every year brings new hopes, dreams and goals. As this time approaches, Dan and I get so excited about the possibilities and experiences that the New Year may hold. Looking back on the New Year’s resolution I had last year, causes me to laugh. For 2016, my big goal was to cook more. The funniest part about that resolution was that I swiftly forgot about it as the busyness of my job set in. However, when we started this blog in April, I began to uphold my resolution without even realizing it. I am pretty positive that this accidental resolution achievement was the first time I ever accomplished any New Year’s goal. Before starting my resolutions for 2017, I felt it necessary to celebrate the year with a tasty indulgence. These New Years cake donuts were a breeze to make and were so fun to dress up. To me, these donuts scream celebration and were a fun way to remember the highs and forget about the lows of 2016.
In the New Year, we will focus on foods and meals that are full of nutrients and vegetables. Given this new emphasis, we wanted to indulge in something festive and sweet before the year runs out. These New Years cake donuts were the perfect way to treat ourselves and have a last hoorah at this great year. Each bite was a fun toast to all that we accomplished this year. Best of all, these tasty donuts took almost no time to make and were so fun to devour.
The eclectic sprinkles are probably my favorite aspect of these flashy donuts. We bought ours at Williams Sonoma but the same effect could be reached by mixing sprinkles from your pantry together. I think this fun assortment looks so shimmering and ready to be gobbled up! Place these on a dessert party at a New Years party or have them in the morning to greet 2017. Any way you chose to consume these delicious sweets, you are sure to thoroughly enjoy them!
Dan and I wish everyone a wonderful and blessed 2017. We cannot wait to see what this year brings and are eager to dream up new goals and big ideas for this coming year. Have a safe, amazing and very happy New Year!
