I think the sentence I have written the most on our blog is that we love pizza! If there is any excuse to eat, make or buy pizza, we have already tried it. At work, there is even a running joke that I eat way too much pizza. I am always bringing it in and I can never have enough of it. So on a Friday night when we did not know what to make or buy, Dan quickly exclaimed, “Pizza!” Given that we have been experimenting with making Thanksgiving foods, we decided that we would make a pizza appetizer that could be served on or before the best meal of the year. Thinking of fall ingredients is fairly simple for me due to my love for all fall flavors. In the grocery store, I grabbed items that I would love to have on a pizza. Being such a pizza enthusiast, I knew that I wanted to try using naan bread for a pizza crust. Having the ability to make a pizza almost instantly is an odd dream of mine. By using naan bread, this pizza was ready in no time! This fall naan pizza was so incredibly simple and so full of flavor that it would be the perfect Thanksgiving appetizer to quickly prepare and serve.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. A day to celebrate eating everything in sight makes me incredibly happy. Every year I get so excited to devour every dish. While I always love tasting every delicious item, I have never really cooked a dish for Thanksgiving. Since we now cook almost every night, it has been our goal to try to cook each traditional dish this year. With our own spin on each dish, we are thrilled to finally get to tackle this amazing feast. My favorite aspect of this fall naan pizza is that it is something I would never think of serving for Thanksgiving and yet it would be so amazingly perfect! With so many dishes to make, this would be the most simple and delicious appetizer! Using butternut squash sauce as the base, goat cheese and prosciutto, it has so many fall flavors that would perfectly balance a Thanksgiving feast. As we devoured it, I kept thinking of so many side dishes that would pair so beautifully with it. Best of all, it was ready in under ten minutes! After placing everything on top, it was quickly broiled and even more quickly gobbled down! Add various Thanksgiving ingredients you have on hand and it will be a tasty showstopper! However or whenever you enjoy it, I hope you love each and every bite of this fall naan pizza just like we did!

Ingredients

  • 2 - 3 Naan Breads
  • 1/2 cup Butternut Squash Puree
  • 1/2 cup Alfredo Sauce
  • Salt an Pepper
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Goat Cheese
  • 3-4 Slices of Prosciutto
  • 1/4 cup Pomegranate Seeds
  • Rosemary Sprigs

Instructions

  1. Place the oven setting to broil. Line a baking sheet with foil. Place the naan bread on the sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the Alfredo sauce with the butternut squash puree and season with salt and pepper. Spread evenly on the naan breads.
  3. Layer both cheeses on the bread and add the prosciutto, pomegranate seeds and rosemary evenly on the pizzas.
  4. Broil for about 5 minutes or until warm and bubbly. Enjoy!
