To get involved in a community has always been a passion of Allie’s and mine. Growing up I frequently volunteered my time at soup kitchens, helping with youth sports camps and community clean up days. Any reason to give back to my community was quickly taken on by me as a priority. To be asked to participate in Sacramento’s Dine Downtown Preview Tour was a tremendous honor and humbling experience for Allie and myself. Attending this event and meeting like-minded bloggers, community members, and other individuals was exciting. To get to know the faces behind an event like Dine Downtown Sacramento brings a tremendous sense of pride.
The Dine Downtown Preview Tour showcased a preview of the culinary experience diners will enjoy during Sacramento’s 12th Annual Dine Downtown Restaurant Week. The Tour highlighted three of the 35 restaurants that will be participating. The three restaurants that graciously hosted us were: Cafeteria 15L, Capitol Garage and Mayahuel Sacramento. Each location provided sample foods of what to expect while dinning at their establishment.
For those that do not know, I am from San Francisco, one of the most incredible cities in the world. Seeing the transformation first hand that Sacramento has undergone in the last 10 years is truly remarkable. To think of where the city will be in the next 10 years is even more incredible. Plain and simple, the people of Sacramento care about their city. The local companies like Downtown Partnership and Downtown Commons (DOCO) have been instrumental in its growth. The implementation and creation of events such as these truly give back and help the community to become even more influential. We are proud to be a part of the Sacramento Community.
