Sometimes when I crave Mexican food, the best way to have it is piled into one large dish. Whether we make nachos, taco salad or burritos, I love layering delicious, Mexican flavors on top of one another to create a mouthwatering meal. That is exactly what we did with this cheesy, flavorful taco skillet. Rather than making a traditional Mexican dish, we put our favorite ingredients in a skillet and let the amazing elements mix together. With turkey, tomatoes, black beans and a generous amount of cheese, all of the components made for the perfect dinner. This skillet dinner was incredibly quick, and the ability to make it in one pan, made it unbelievably easy.

Easy Taco Skillet

Using one skillet has been our new, favorite cooking practice. We have decided to adopt this one-pan method for three important reasons. First of all, cooking in one pan allows for all of the flavors to combine in sometimes a surprising but scrumptious way. We have shocked ourselves with some amazing and unexpected results that have occurred from combining several different ingredients. Secondly, cooking in one pan is so incredibly fast! Pouring in elements and mixing them occasionally, is the simplest form of cooking that can be done in about thirty minutes. Third of all (and most importantly), using one pan means very few dishes to clean. Easy Taco Skillet

Allie and I feel strongly that dishes need to be done immediately after cooking. We have decided upon that after a few overwhelming moments of watching the dishes pile up during busy weeknights. In order to help us achieve this goal, we try to clean as we go and also right after we eat. Using one pan allows for effortless cleaning and more time left for enjoying the night. With this cooking practice, our dishes are done almost instantly. Due to delicious flavor, incredible speed and easy cleaning, using one pan allows for the ultimate weeknight simplicity.

Easy Taco Skillet

This taco skillet meal could be paired with warm tortillas or could be placed atop a bed of lettuce. We ate it alone and scooped up a few bites with tortilla chips. No matter how you enjoy it, it will be a great dinner decision! Also, be prepared for more skillet meals on our blog soon! We hope to convince you as well of the surprising simplicity and tastes that can come from this great decision. Enjoy!
