At our house, a donut is the perfect weekend treat. I do not have much of a sweet tooth, but there is something about the smell of a hot, fresh donut. The minute I walk into a donut shop, I become weak at the knees and want to fill a giant pink box full of the amazing morsels. When I was younger, my grandma used to take my sisters and I almost every weekend to a local donut shop. We would rummage through a drawer where my grandma kept change and would collect just enough coins to buy our favorite treats. I can remember my order so vividly that every time I think about it, my mouth starts to water for sugar, glaze and rainbow sprinkles. Dan also has fond memories of getting donuts on the weekends. On Sunday mornings with his dad, he would go with his brothers to pick up a box of donuts. Every time Dan reminisces about those sweet memories with his dad, we both feel compelled to buy a donut and savor it together.
