tailgating football food

In order to battle the Kansas City Chiefs and the juicy spare rib sliders that we made, we knew we would have to bring an amazing recipe to the playing field. When we researched the Pittsburgh Steelers, we were happily surprised to see that pierogies are a big staple in that area. We love frozen pierogies for their versatility and simplicity. In a pinch, these frozen treats make the easiest and most delicious dinners. In the past, we have made a creamy pierogi lemon skillet and a quick pesto pierogi skillet. Using pierogi as the main ingredient makes everything more delicious! When we thought about how to make pierogies fit for game day, we instantly knew the fun direction we wanted to take them.

Deep Fried Pierogi

Because pierogies are soft and creamy on the inside, we knew we had to give them a great crunch! Coating them in salty chips and tossing them in sizzling oil, sure did the trick! When you take a bite into these fantastic morsels, you will be just as mind blown as we were!

Fried Pierogi

When we put these two game day foods together, it is a very close battle! We were amazed by the ease the slow cooker spare rib sliders and loved how easily they came together. We also loved how completely unique and addicting the pierogies were. However, when we think about what we would want to have again and again during football games, the winner would easily be the potato chip pierogi.
