This lightened spaghetti bake is so effortless, uses one pan and is so incredibly creamy and delicious!

After Christmas when things have finally slowed down, all we want are comfort foods! When it is freezing outside, my favorite thing to do is cook a delicious and warm meal inside. Whenever comfort food is calling my name, I try to find a way to make it healthier since I am in control of all of the ingredients. One of my very favorite comfort dishes is Spaghetti. The moment Dan suggested that we make a spaghetti bake, I tried to find ways to make it very creamy while also being a little healthier. Adding in reduced fat cheeses gave us less guilt about devouring this whole skillet. This lightened spaghetti bake is so effortless, uses one pan and is so incredibly creamy and delicious!

Lightened Spaghetti Bake

Dan and I have been enjoying our time off and want to use this week to plan healthy meals. While our next few posts will be tying up loose ends to our football game food posts, our kitchen will be filled with veggie packed meals. We cannot wait to go into the new year eating more whole foods and meals full of nutrients. It may seem very cliche, but we love giving out meals a healthy twist every January and challenging ourselves to continue it all year long.

Relaxing this week and enjoying our home together seems like the simplest thing, but we are so excited to enjoy that little gift. With two busy schedules, it is such a treat to sit back, relax and indulge in just being quiet at home. Our only plans are to exercise and cook, so with goals like that, we know we will be loving every day here together.

After we made this incredible lightened spaghetti bake, we were so amazed by the outcome! In just a few easy steps, one of the creamiest and flavorful dishes was ready to be devoured! Using just one pan, the most delicious pasta bake is ready in no time. Hungry families will love this lighter dish! We loved how I was able to take leftovers to work and enjoy one of my favorite comfort foods again and again. This lightened spaghetti bake is something that can feed a crowd or just two and can be whipped up so very quickly. Lightened Spaghetti Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Bucatini Pasta
  • 1/2 pound Sausage, ground
  • 4 ounces Reduced Fat Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Light Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
  • 2 1/2 cups Marinara Sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup Reduced Fat Mozzarella Cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup Parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Boil pasta according to package instructions and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet that can transfer to the oven, cook the sausage until browned. Drain the fat and set the sausage aside. In the same skillet, melt the cream cheese, stirring it continuously. Add in the cottage cheese an stir. Place the pasta in the skillet and coat it with the cheese mixture. Stir in the Parmesan cheese. Stir until just melted. Pour the marinara sauce over the pasta until it covers the entire skillet.
  4. Top the skillet with mozzarella sauce and place in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and browned on top. Garnish with parsley. Enjoy!
