As of today, I am on Thanksgiving break and am loving every laid back minute of it! Being a teacher has some serious perks, and having long breaks is definitely one of them. While I am at home this week, I have some great plans to organize, relax and of course cook. We have been experimenting a lot with Thanksgiving foods, and I cannot wait to cook them all week. Since Thanksgiving foods are really only enjoyed during November, we have been maximizing our time eating these delicious dishes. Only having cranberries and stuffing just a a month or two out of the year gives us serious incentives to make it in different forms. Green beans are something that we only eat this time of year, so having them in various ways makes us maximize our enjoyment. This cheesy green bean bake is drenched in rich cheese, smothered in bread crumbs and is packed with fresh, delicious green beans. When we made this tasty green bean bake, I was amazed with how simple and incredible it was. Whenever I saw my mom making side dishes for Thanksgiving, they seemed so complex and difficult. Cheesy Green Bean Bake

Cheesy Green Bean Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Green Beans
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Asiago Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 1/4 cup Panko
  • Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Steam green beans until soft. Place in a baking dish and set aside.
  3. In a sauce pan on medium heat, add the milk. Heat for 3 minutes and then whisk in the flour. Whisk in the cheese, a half a cup at a time. Once smooth, remove from the heat and pour on top of the green beans.
  4. In a small bowl, toss the panko in olive oil. Place the panko over the green beans and cheese mixture.
  5. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Enjoy!
