Unlike most households, taco nights are pretty non existent here. While we absolutely love tacos, they are not one of our go-to meals. Whenever we do think about making tacos, we are so incredibly happy that they easily jump onto our plates. Tacos are so amazingly simple that it shocks me that Dan and I frequently overlook them. These easy beef street tacos fit right into that category of super easy tacos. After we cooked the beef, the next steps were just mixing the sauce and piling tasty ingredients on top.




 




These effortless beef street tacos are part of our football series that we will be focusing on each week. Every week, we choose two teams and then make a recipe that represents the team. These recipes are appetizers and foods that can be enjoyed on game day. After choosing two recipes, we then make the two teams go head to head and choose a winner based on the dish we like best. Representing the Los Angeles Chargers, these tacos perfectly highlight the tasty tacos that are so deliciously prevalent in the area.




 

Beef Street Tacos

Given that I have visited Los Angeles a number of times, I would easily declare it a taco paradise. In certain areas, it is hard to find a bad taco, and really there are several great places to enjoy one. Tacos are abundant in Los Angeles, and there are so many incredible options to try. While there are delicious tacos in Northern California, the types and varieties of tacos that are available in L.A. are beyond amazing. Tacos are highly celebrated in the area, and with so many awesome options, it is not hard to see why.




Beef Street Tacos

These tacos are so simple to make and perfectly capture the essence of a great street taco. With flavorful beef, pickled onions and a spicy sauce, these outstanding street tacos are too good to pass up. If we put our past two recipes up together and choose one winner, we would definitely pick the Chargers. Although the cheesy beef empenadas that we made for the Dolphins were quite delicious, there was something so easy and fun about these zesty street tacos. We loved how we could throw these together in no time and we were so wonderfully overwhelmed by all of the great flavors. Since our Juicy Lucy prediction won last week, we are hoping that this one will have a lucky outcome as well. However the game turns out, we urge you to try these easy tacos. You will love every bite and will love the simple process even more!

Beef Street Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Beef, cut into long strips (we used prepared stir fry beef)
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Lime, juiced, separated
  • 6-8 Flour Tortillas
  • 1/4 cup Cotija Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Lettuce
  • 1/4 cup Beet Sauerkraut or Pickled Onions
  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons Chipotle Powder

Instructions

  1. Season beef with chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and 1/2 of a lime. Heat the beef in a skillet until no longer pink.
  2. Warm the tortillas and layer tortillas with cheese, cilantro, shredded lettuce and pickled onions.
  3. Mix greek yogurt, Sriracha, chipotle powder and 1/2 a juiced lime together in a small bowl. Top each taco with sauce. Enjoy!
